[V6-12v] 2.8 12v burning oil?

I haven't experienced that, but in my experience valve stem seals normally
show themselves when you notice smoke in your mirror off, not on, the
throttle, e.g. as you go downhill. That's not to say they couldn't smoke on
acceleration I guess but I think it's more likely to be something else.

We just replaced mine as part of the head gasket job, not too bad, but we
had the heads off and the cams out. Not sure if you can do those in-situ, or
how difficult it would be if you were to try!
