I will have to build a computer for the garage - I do have enough parts to do that with comfortable processor resources. The one thing that I don't like about the tool is the price. At $349 it is not cheap - considering that the code tool for my 1999 BMW 740 cost only $149.00.

What I asked myself before buying my VAG-COM, was "will I save $350 in
time, hassles, headaches, and labor by owning this tool?" You know what
my answer was already, but that's the question you'll have to ask
yourself. Ross-Tech has astounding customer support and frequently
releases new versions of their software with ever increasing lists of
scan-tool fields and module coding/adaption all converted into plain
english. I see its cost as partally a lifetime subscription to labor
intensive software updates in addition to the physical device.
