My hats off to you for doing the whole crummy, frustrating job. So far as the 
exhaust bands are concerned I never got those to seal on any of the cars they 
were applied to. On the last car I finally had enough and brought it to a 
local Mieneke shop where they custom built sleeves that would fit across both 
ends of the existing pipes and then welded them in place. The whole job took 
less than a 1/2 hour, and the sleeves were about $10 each.
