Hi Austin
The thing leaks constantly ... and I don't have to feel .. I can hear it ,
which tells me something is wrong.
I think some kind of GOOP is the answer because if I weld in a sleeve it
certainly will not leak but the next guy ( may be me ) is royally SCREWED !
..I have the clamps moving fairly freely now . I guess I have to find some
product that I put in or around the sleeve during installation. Do you know
if they just slap it on the outside ?
Sounds like my kind of Job anyway so up the on the axle stands we go ...
again ....
I guess I am googling " exhaust goop "

Hi Clive,
I'd believe any moisture should escape when the car is warmed up, through
the normal exhaust flow.
They guys who did my exhaust last gooped the bejesus out of them, and said
they always do that...the place is KTR and they have a "division" that
specializes in VW and Audi repair and tuning. That doesn't mean their
"method" is correct, it's just what they do and do it to a lot of cars. You
might want to call a dealer and ask. But, if they intentionally leak (which
I'm skeptical anyway) they shouldn't leak at the ends, those should seal.
Does it leak when it's warmed up?
Regards,
Austin
