[V6-12v] Fwd: 12V intake kit

Regarding temperatures, the problem with cone type filters that sit in the engine compartment are that they tend to draw air from the hot air compartment mostly, rather than having a 'funnel' that draws cool(er) air from outside the car, as on the original filter box arrangement. Cars prefer cool, and if possible, slightly damp air in terms of better combustion so this can be problematic. Also, make sure the cooling system and fans are in good order in case engine temps rise a bit.

Regarding the MAF, I don't see a problem inherently, but I don't know if whether on the earlier V6 engines with the manually adjusted CO mixture, you would have to readjust the CO potentiometer until you get a 'normal' reading on VAG-COM or similar due to the increased airflow? Just a thought.

Sorry to change the subject but just installed a K and N cone filter on my
96 A6 and i would like to know if there is anyone else out there that has
done the same.So far its working well with a noticeable increase in
power. But there is some question about the increase air flow and its
effects on the MAF (bad signal)as well as the engine compartment temp.Any
feed back would be appreciated......
