[V6-12v] Anti-lock Brakes

The amber light  "anti-lock brakes off" is illuminated
on my 1993 100 CSQ Avant.  It is intermittent but 95%
of the time the light is lit.  Also, the console
displays that the rear differential is locked (green
light is on).  Not very good for driveline when going
around corners.  Where should I start looking first? 
I don't believe there are any codes for this problem.
