[V6-12v] Pick up sensor

Probably the crank sensor. I had this on the wifes Taurus, no spark or
injector pules. I think on the Audi it is on te Bell housing close to the AC
compressor, I think you may have to move the compressor to get at it.
By far the worst car ever to work on has been this one, and I have worked on
a lot. Not much engineering time went into serviceability access.

I'm not sure what the "pick-up" sensor is. Engine speed sensor, maybe?
