Rob,
There's a gasket that goes between the oil cooler and the block. I'd replace
that. It's a rubber O-ring with a couple of tabs on it to hold it in place.
I bet it's gone hard and brittle over time. The seal/gasket should be
available at any stealership (probably for less or about the same as you'd
pay on-line with shipping).
