[V6-12v] Possible Burned valve

I had a '94 100 avant with the V6 and FWD automatic.  I haven't
seen an answer, so here goes...

Are you sure it's the head gasket?  The engines are known to leak
from the valley pan (intake manifold, in the valley of the V of
the V6).

Do the compression test before worrying about a burned valve.
