[V6-12v] Rough Running Engine

All of this is very familiar.  My fuel pump left me stranded also at around 160K miles on a winter evening.  Fortunately, I was about 10 miles from home.   I just did the right head gasket on mine at 180K miles.  Oil was leaking almost as fast as I put it in.

Folks,

My 1994 90S left me stranded with a dead fuel pump once. I remember hearing
a high-pitch whine from the rear starting a couple of months before the pump
failed. The whine would be there during the first couple of miles and be
worse in cold weather (10C/50F and below). It was subtle enough that it
didn't bother me, but loud enough that I noticed and started wondering what
it could be.

The pump died at roughly 160kMiles. I traded the car in at 175k when the
head gasket was leaking to the point of embarrassment (big puddles, lots of
smoke from oil getting burnt on the exhaust pipes).
