[V6-12v] Vag com issues?

Having some odd issues with Vag Com.

Before I replaced the heads and heater core on the car, I had no
problems connecting to all modules on my car. Now that I have
everything back together, I can't get communication from the engine
module. I can communicate fine with the climate control, anti-lock
brakes, inst cluster ect ect. It just times out when attempting to
connect to the 01 module though.

So since I have comm with other modules, that pretty much eliminates the
Vag Com cable and/or PC. I have pulled a few different fuses and have
even gone as far as to pull the battery connections and then short
across them.

No change.

So maybe I disturbed something in disassembling the center console? Or
left a crucial connection loose or unplugged in the engine compartment?
Anyone have any BTDT or troubleshooting tips on this? Maybe a ground
isnt connected?

The only other thing that's significant is that I might have
accidentially connected the 2+2 connectors backwards. I still connected
them to the right colors (white to white, black to black) but reversed.
Not sure if that matters though.

Any thoughts?

Rob
