[V8] Wire Question near Throttle Pedal

When I replaced my heater box and fresh air blower, I found a pair of
disconnected wires that I couldn't find in my electrical diagrams.
They were Br/Y and Br/Bk. One side was cut off very clean and the black
plastic sheath around those two wires was cut through too. The other side
had two male connector contacts but no connector housing. It appears that
there was once a connector here but one side was cut off and the other side
ripped off.
They are located just above and slightly toward the center of the throttle
pedal and just under the heater box.
Everything on the car (except drivers butt warmer, but that's in the seat)
seemed to work 100% fine before the heater repair, and everything seems to
work right now. The outside air temp sensor uses the same color wires, but
that works fine.
Any ideas as to what this is?
Thanks,
Alan
