[V8] Another try

I'm still having a issue with the temp gauge. It pegs all the way as soon as I start the car. When the door is open and the key is in the gauge jumps each time the chime sounds. Keith looked at it and confermed that it is shorting out. Anyone have this problem in the past? I will have the dash pad off this weekend, does anyone have a good place to start looking?  Thanks........
I found a place that will paint the car, will drop it off on Monday. I would like to comment on the way it is running, but I'm sure it would jinx things;-) But I really like these cool low humidty days here in Florida, too bad they dont last..........
Also I was just getting used to being at home, but it looks like I will be going back overseas again after the new year. Have been to both the Stan and Iraq, could I be so lucky as to get Kuwait this time? I dont think so.
