[V8] IC possible open wire

The weather is bad today - and I was bored so I completly tore apart my cluster. This is no job for 
wimps. Anyway, I found an interconnect ribbon cable that connects what I assume is the trip 
computer circuit board and the rear black circuit board. It looks like there was a manufacturing 
defect in the way they assemble the IC. (which may explain why so many people have similar wierd 
problems with the cluster)
Two pins fell off the ribbon cable after I took it apart (de-soldered) which leads me to believe I 
found the real source of the intermittant.
The only way to take this apart is to de-solder the ribbon, and the factories assemply process 
seems to put a lot of pressure on the ribbon. Re-assembly was a size large PITA but if my 
hypothesis is correct, my troubles are over. The way I rebuilt it there is no pressure anymore.

I will report the results in a few days. I should get a quick answer as my speedo was crapping out 
every time I drove the car. It would always start off working then stop after about 10 minutes.
