Mass air flow sensor.
Tell you what happened to me and why I think it is that. I took everything
off to replace my TPS, and when I put it back together, it wouldn't run right
about, surprise, 1700 rpm. Revved like a mutha up until that point. Took it
apart, put old TPS back on, still didn't matter. I went to tearing everything
apart, and when I was going to take the MAF out (I had cleaned it), I realized
that I hadn't plugged it back in. (Color me embarrassed!) I don't know, but
it sounds like it might need to be cleaned, a wire went out, or it needs
replacing.

cold or running temp...makes no difference
*it runs great up to 1700 rpm
*it starts very well
*looking at the sparkplugs it looks like it runs rich
