[V8] Engine Light Doesnt Light Up

... not to mention the fact that there are other states back east which
mandate the California standards too.  

It is fairly easy to tell if your car is one of the ones stipulated as
meeting the California emissions requirements.  If the sticker under the
hood states that the car meets the California emissions requirements your
check engine light should light.  If it states that the car meets federal
emissions regs the light will probably not work.  Tomas is in California ...
where I've heard others who have had problems with the smog pros failing the
inspection on originally out of state cars where the check engine light does
not come on.  I never had this problem before myself, but now I've connected
the lights so it should not be an issue ...
