Yep. There was a TSB years ( July 1990?) ago about this, and it was
designed to avoid oil cavitation. Generally what this means is that you'd
fill up to just above the top of the bottom plastic piece of the dipstick
IIRC.
BTW -- Wow! 2 qts for 5k miles. What type of oil are you running (not to
start another oil thread). Must do a lot of highway driving...

What's this about the oil capacity (for refill) going from 10 qts to 8 qts?
Was this a service bulletin? Is there a re-marked dip stick? I've always
filled mine to the full mark (10 qts). Oil temp runs at about the first
unlabeled mark (100?) and the level is normally just about down to the fill
mark at my 5000 mi change time.
