[V8] Power Steering pump / Hydraulic hoses question

Hello all,

This might have come up before, but I have a question in regards to the
power steering pump.

I am going to have to replace one of my hoses from the Hydraulic tank or
maybe even the tank itself. I see a little seepage coming from where the
hose goes into the tank. So it could be either or. Plus I want to flush the
old fluid out anyways.

First question: The hose in question is not that bad in price being an Audi
Part. The tank itself is. Audi wants $170CDN / $120ish USD for it. Are there
any other sources than Audi? I looked at Audiquattoparts.com and IPS but do
not see any thing listed.

Now while I am got to get this checked out and done I want to check the
condition of the Power steering pump to see if there are any leaks.

Is the main problem with the pump the leaks mainly or do they always seem to
wear out after only 2 years. The question I am asking couldn't you just buy
the seal kit for next to nothing and put new seals on the pump rather than
buying a whole new pump??
