[V8] Suspension

What rear bar? None of my v8's has/had one -- did the 92-94 ones have them?
Any time you're stiffening up the front suspension mounting points (which is
what a stiffer/bigger front sway bar on these beasts is), you are making the
car more controllable. The front bar on these cars does double duty because
the control arm itself only mounts to the subframe in one point (compared
with two of conventional A-arm -- like my Urq). So basically there are
three mounting points for each front axle: Top of strut, balljoint attached
to control arm to subframe (I'll count that as one), and front swaybar.
OTOH if you REALLY want to reduce understeer then I suggest wider
wheels/rubber up front and narrower in the rear. German tuners were known
for doing this a few years back. You can experiment by underinflating the
fronts a bit and overinflating the rears if your running all the same size.
Of course, I'm not sure what the torsen will want to do...uh oh, I said that
word...

Bigger front bar actually helped? Given these cars' propensity to push thru
turns, I'd be inclined to beef up the rear bar, not the front... BTDT w/
FWD, but not quattro.
