'Torsen Boy' is out of town, so don't expect a reply anytime soon...
The original Camaro setup was actually a Martin Pajak mod used on the front and rear of 4kq.
Yes, merits can (and have/will) be debated, but one should think that Audi chose to install them on their performance vehicles for a reason. BTW, what do the newest performance vehicles from Ingolstadt have?

No rear bar exists that I know of -- I'm suggesting the addition of one to add stability (controllablity?) in addition to (or rather than) beefing up the front more.
Doesn't the '92 S4 have a rear bar? I wonder if that's a cross-over fitment. Also, I seem to recall something about some Camaro rear sway bar being a relatively close fit.
One year S4 was imported with a rear bar.... Euro spec V8 Sport models have a rear bar.....Same bar =0)
Problem: The rear crossmember is unique to cars with a factory rear bar and of course the central bar mounting points are part of the crossmember. Other than that all other mounting hardware is available and bolts up.
Hint...don't purchase rear endlinks from the dealer. (they're $95 EACH!!!) Instead purchase the commonly available 92-94 B4 90 front links for about 25 each from the aftermarket and have them shortened. Better yet... modify them so they're length adjustable so they can be installed without preloading the bar.
Point of arguement: "The V8 is a type 44 derivitive and if Audi thought the T44 needed a bar they would have given it one" or "The T44 suspension cant effectively use a rear bar because......" etc etc etc.....
Euro V8 Sport models and Euro S-cars have rear bars and share rear suspensions with earlier T44's. Either the stiffer chassised (sp?) V8 and C3 allow a rear bar to work effectively or Audi installed a useless parts assembly on the rear of those cars that have them.
I'm not gonna argue either way, at least not on-list....isn't that right "Torsen Boy" =0)
