[V8] V8 COOLING FAN

 1) The large fan had better be running all the time...its belt driven by the 
crank. First determine that it really is running cold. If it is proceed 
directly to thermostat change. 

2) We all wish the V8 had the same hoses as the 5cylinder cars.

3) Low stable idle is most likely a failed Idle Stabilizer Valve (ISV) The V8 
ISV has a failsafe air inlet that allows the car to run even if its bad.
