[V8] Usual suspects for no start V8?

Are you trying to start the car with the new battery? Perhaps it was
undercharged on the shelf. Try jumping from a good running battery (last
time this happened to me, I used my garden tractor). You DO know it's
positive to positive, negative from source to ground on your car, right?
