Audi used to have a replacement program where you
could turn in your old radio and US$100 and the dealer
would give you a replacement. I swapped out the radio
in my '89 200 TQ about 2 years ago.  I don't know if they
still do this.  It might be worth a call to a *knowlegable*
service manager.
