Hi Tony,
Thanks for writing. We pulled the codes off the car,
which was a chore, since we had to replace the
connector for the unit which had rotted. The tranny
reset and has been running fine - bad control unit was
the code, but the car had no other codes. The
throttle linkage and body was cleaned - butterflies
were VERY dirty. No apparent damage from the brake
fire, bled the brakes and the pedal pressure is back.
The door locks STARTED working (who knows), and it
appears that the defroster is a vacuum leak or a bad
unit somewhere. That's still on the "to fix list".
Radio and CD player are back and operational. Rear
speakers squak a little when cold, but it goes away.
Passenger door speaker was cut at some point. Rear
heated seats still don't work, but low on the priority
list. The ski bag was removed and is now sliding
loose around the trunk - can't figure out how to get
it back in without breaking something. Ideas? Got
the fog lights working, too. Cruise still inop. If
anyone has them, I need:
Driver's fog light lens
Passenger door speaker
passenger tail light lens
driver's seat back power adjuster (broken off)
Car has been driving well and solid. 22-24 mpg, heat
works great, and the car has lots of pickup. Still
has an oil leak at the rear of the heads and the
passenger head is noisy - perhaps a pulley? More work
to go, but thanks to everyone for the help. Can't
wait for some snow, now!!
