I just bought a shifter boot for about $30 from AGLA. It is aglausa.com I
bought mine off ebay, not sure if they still list them. They also do
steering wheels, etc.
My original boot was stiff, this one is thinner and very soft. My original
frame was screwed in already, so I just re-screwed it. However, a new boot
may work if the clips aren't completely broken off. I suspect if you wanted
a "correct" fix, you could make clips out of metal, and screw them in on the
bottom. They wouldn't be seen that way.
