I had the exact same thing happen last year when it
got real cold out in Mass. I as you only drive the car
once or twice every few weeks & the car ran great
during the previous Summer &,
 I've got a few other Audi's I use on a daily basis,
so I wasn't sure what the problem was
but the Car would crank, crank,..etc & almost want to
catch
but never quiet did. I asked the local Audi tech & he
mentioned spark plugs. Sept I just put the Bosch H7DCO
plugs in bout 600 miles before hand!! So I mention it
to him & he insisted the plugs!!! So I figured I'd get
the factory ones from the dealer while I was there.
They gave me Audi part # 101-000-052-AA The list is a
bit $'y at almost $18.00 per! but I get a good
discount at the dealer so I got them for $8.00 each.
These plugs are different than the Bosch +4 plug as
the 4 prongs site in the middle (or sides) of the
electrode as apposed to on top of the electrode (ala
+4 plug).
Changed the plugs when I got back home. Put the key
in a little hesitant, turned it all the way &
(building drama) it FIRED up, backround music started
(meaning the Stebro) & all has been well now since
(88.3k) now with 91k.
But in aether event I also vote for changing the
plugs.
Thanks
Ron
