[V8] F'in haunted spark plugs

  Listers,

  I had a problem last year with the Bosch H7DCO
plugs, 
 the weather got bitterly cold out & the car wouldn't
start. At the time I just put the plugs in 600 miles
ago so after allmost tearing my hair out (whats left
of it) 
I asked the local Audi Tech & he mentioned spark plugs
but I mentioned that I had just changed them to the
Bosch plugs but he insisted the plugs so I went to the
parts desk & got the OE plugs part # 101 000 052 AA
the plugs list for allmost $18.00 a piece but I got
them for way cheaper & have had no problems with them
since.
 So over the summer I did a motor swap for a friend &
figured I'de use the plugs in his car since they were
brand new. So he's had no problem with them up intill
yesterday. He mentioned that the car wouldn't start,
It sounded to familir to what I went through the
previouse winter.
 So my question is whats up with these plugs? & is
there any source for the OE plugs anywere else than
the dealer?
