[V8] Cold killing gas mileage

Very common. Cars run not nearly as efficiently when it gets cold outside. 
My 4kq's used to get about 13 MPG when it was around -20 or so for a week. 
Some of that is due to extra Idle time (warm-up, etc.).

Sorry I don't have a technical explination.
