[V8] V8 - VW Jetta

Gunter - I thought I was the only fool to keep a VW for that long.
 
Mine is a 1986 Jetta GLI with 243,000 miles.  Never had engine open, 2 clutches, two brake jobs, and 2 alternators. I guess you could say 2 too much.
 
I have had to use my brakes aggressively on two occasions to haul the 
car down from 100 mph and it didn't really seem more capable than my old 
'86 Jetta which has a quarter million miles on it and admittedly 
average to below average braking power..........
