[V8] "87 5000 Quattro no power to front wheels

Hi Fans,
       My oldest daughter just stopped by and her 5000 Quattro quit moving where she stopped in the drive-way..I had to park it at the garage.
     To get the car to move I had to lock both differentials into posi.  and only the rear wheels have power  now .
   WHAT'S  UP  ?  Need help with diagnosis .
