[V8] Removing Transmission

... are you sure you want to pull the transmission?  It might actually be
easier to get at the flex plate by pulling the motor!  Since all you need is
enough spacing to get at the crank bolts you might be able to pull a few
things off the front of the radiator and the fan shroud to make enough room
without disassembling the coolant plumbing and disconnecting the tranny
cooler.  If you find that you don't get enough clearance that way you can
get a bit more room by loosening the core support.  You'll need to pull the
starter to access the bolts that hook the flex plate up to the torque
converter and all the bellhousing bolts either way.  It might actually be a
bit easier for you than it was for me because you don't have to line up a
pilot shaft when bolting it all back together.
