[V8] Being Ones Own Mechanic

Now that I think of it, I think I was venting more about people my age
than the people on this list. I totally understand that we all cant
just sit around all day and work on our cars and do the things we really
want to do with them. I just feel that for a project car to really be
appreciated due to a new technique, transplant, modification, or
whatever. It really means more if you have done it yourself.

Or, if you fixed something on your house like the leaky faucet, or that
light above the Washer and dryer that goes through lightbulbs like the
V8 goes through gas (Dad you really need to check that wiring!)

Or even more in my perspective, when I solve an electronics problem that
has been chapping my butt for three weeks it really feels good. Sure I
could have just copied the answer out of the solutions manual, but it
feels so much better to know exactly why the transistor biasing works
the way it does. Beta rocks!

Shawn;
Your email made me smile. I'm sure I must have once said something very

similar.
When I hear that from someone your age, I want to be around years later
to
see if
they hold the same strong opinion.

I'm glad you are not only intelligent enough but have the perseverance
to
complete
the projects you listed. Go get 'em. This experience will be
invaluable to
you
all through your life. My hope for you is that as your experiences grow
you
will
keep the curiosity while developing more and more tolerance.

Your comment made me think of Maurice and his situation. I would
venture to
say Maurice would love to spend his weekends tinkering around with cars,
but
life has thrown him a difference set of rules to play by - at least for
a
while. I
dare say, he has gained experience and strength through his wife's
debilitating
car accident that make all our complaints pale in comparison.
May God bless them.

Isn't this list great!
Best regards,
Richard Morris
