[V8] Another V8 5-Speed e-Bay / the one on AutoTrader

Jeremy,
A minor point of clarification: I believe you will find that only MC or
3B/AAN converted urqs are selling consistently for $15k-$30k. "Regular"
examples of those cars sell for $3k-$5k, with very well maintained ones
from $5k to $10k.
The Quattro quarterly will always have a few people asking big money for
Audis. Asking is typically not receiving, however.
The price is low for the V8 5-speeds because the supply exceeds the
demand. With little effort, you can always find one for sale somewhere in
the US. We aren't in the 1990's anymore where to some (alot of) people
buying a $10k car took as much thought at a $1 candy bar.
The ur-S4/6s are more popular because you can get more performance out of
them... way more performance! They also are nicer cars (better headlights,
glass sun roof, better seats, more aggressive rear end, etc.).
Audi isn't alone. BMW has a similar problem with the 7 series cars.
John
P.S. That $1500 urq you mentioned was probably the one that I passed on as
well. How big of an idiot am I? Huge! The one I'm thinking was a
Portland car with around 145k, the under hood fuse box and red. In my
defense, I had my urq and had just gotten my Miata as well as our
Rallycross 4kq. I really didn't want a divorce!
