[V8] Climate "control"

First off ... the car came with R12 from the factory (would hate to get
arrested for using the "F" word! :-) ... but may well have been updated to
R134 ... it should be possible to tell by looking at the service fittings
... 

I get similar problems with my cars in the morning if it is on the cool side
... but as you report, hitting defrost clears it right up.  I suspect it is
some condensation in the system ... perhaps the drain is plugged.  Doesn't
seem to be a real big deal from my POV as long as it doesn't smell musty or
have a coolant scent ... 

Of course it wouldn't hurt to test the recirc door ... my preference would
be to pull the cover under the hood and watch the fresh air door rather than
crawling up in the passenger footwell.  Another test you could do would be
to turn the car on without starting the engine and then switching the CC
head from OFF to ECON and back and listen for the vacuum motor to actuate
...
