[V8] Tires, accordions, and kick downs (oh my)

I finally got around to changing the oil today. I can't believe how
fast that oil drains out of the pan (almost overflowed my oil catcher).
I ended up using dino oil (2 gal); thanks for all of the dino vs. synth
discussion. My decision came down to $$ :-)
In my inspection, I discovered that I am wearing the shoulders of my
tires down. Does this mean that a) I need to stop cornering like a
maniac, b) the alignment with my H&R springs is off, or c) my tires are
under inflated? What is the correct tire pressure BTW? Any way to
check b)?
I also noticed that the accordion on the drivers side steering rack is
now a 2 piece unit... Is this a huge PITA to replace? Any reason I
need to take care of this ASAP?
Oil breather hoses are replaced; I hope this was the source of my stinky
oil leak (on to the exhaust).
I still can't find the kick down switch (1990)... It appears that it is
the square 'block' next to the firewall (engine side)of the throttle
cable, but I don't see any wires coming off of it. I also can't locate
any orphaned wires in the engine compartment. Are the wires on the
inside of the fire wall? Where do these wires go? To the TCU I am
assuming...
Does anyone know what the purpose of the 'wide open throttle' switch
(located inside the TPS) if it is not used for transmission kick down?
If the TPS-WOT is unused AND my kick down switch is truly broken,
perhaps I can rewire it to the proper wires on the TPS... Thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
- Jeremy
