[V8] Throttle stuck open!!

I think you are right, most likely mechanical.  There was a cruise
control recall because of this very issue.  Some that actually had the
recall performed many moons ago are experiencing failures again.

Pop the air filter cover off and the air box at the back of the air
intake manifold.  There you will see where the accelerator cable meets
the throttle linkage and the cruise control linkage.  There you will
most likely see the problem (bent linkage, worn nylon bushing, etc)

Glad you discovered this on your driveway and not the freeway...

Ok... so we finally got a couple of nice days in a row and I got my pads

swapped around, recharged the battery and fired up the V8... It, as
usual, fired 
immediately and rolled along at 1100rpm or so warming up.  I was rather
ticked 
to see that the pad warning lights didn't go off... I guess I have to
pull the 
wheels and recheck the splices... after I bleed everything again.

But... I tapped the throttle and it swung up to redline and stuck!
Pulling 
back on the pedal made no difference so I shut it down.  Fiddled with
the pedal 
a bit and started it again - right up to redline again.

HELP!?

It's been sitting for a couple of months waiting to get the roters and
pads 
swapped.  My suspicion is mechanical not electrical.  Is there a common 
failure?

Thankfully this was in the driveway, not on some city street!
