I decided to chop off 1 inch from the top of my dipstick tube. (easy - used a tubing cutter)
So now I can get a better oil level measurement with an 8qt fill. I will mark the 6/7/8 qt
marks on the stick at the next change.
I also noticed that the dipstick full mark (pre-cut) is right at the top of the sump - where the
tube goes into the sump. My tube came out with only half an o-ring so that looks like a
good place for left side oil leaks.
