[V8] Can't open hood

I'm nearly 100% certain that the small cable fastener has loosened (and has
probably fallen off by now), and that no matter how hard I tug on the cable,
it won't release the latches (there are two).
You're right...........I need to find a way to thrust those blasted latch
levers inwards...................I don't know if I'll be able to access them
from down below given all the stuff that's in the way but it's worth a
shot...........car doesn't have the bellypan anyway.
Failing that, I will take off the fender to see if that somehow will give me
enough room to access the latches in such a way that I'm able to release
them...........just a theory.
Can't work on the car tonight...........will try
tomorrow..........otherwise, it runs great.
