Dave,
Thanks for the clarification, that certainly makes more sense than just
a simple measurement value (ie. 40 mm or whatever) that I had perceived
as being what the "profile" number suggested.  To that end I still feel
that the 40 series tire leaves too much "gap" in the wheelwell, and if
I am understanding correctly the 45 profile should be no problem
becuase it is still less than the stock width/profile ratio?
