[V8] seat belt

The spring is inside the seatbelt retractor. It is similar to the recoil spring
of a pull starter for a lawn mower.

My driver's side seat belt retractor is weak. The belt will retract if hand fed
into the retractor so it's usable, but it just hangs loose when I unbuckle to
get out of the car. First, I removed and cleaned the retractor with no luck. I
then removed the spring to pretension it. I took spring off and took a couple
of extra turns on it and reinstalled. I was successful in reinstalling it after
about 50 attempts :) This was a major PITA. For my efforts the seat belt
retracted properly maybe twice. IMO the spring steel has lost its "memory".

This leads me to a question or two. Can the procon 10 cable be removed and just
the retractor be replaced? Can the belt be removed or do you need one with
matching belt color?
