Anyone have a right side mirror or glass for sale?
Anyone have dark spot at bottom of mirror? Any way to prevent?
Thanks

I came within $200 of that car - oh well, I didn't care for the color
anyway!

... I've had the battery disconnected for extended periods in both cars ...
no abnormal activity of the airbag light on either car. I just did the
starter on #2 ... still no issues with the airbag. Have you had the airbag
recall on the car ... if not, perhaps the power source is running down ...

I'm a little confused when you say the airbag light now comes on when you
start the car. This sounds as though it did not come on before. It should
come on
when the car is started and then go out after a short period (10 seconds)
after it has done some form of system check.
If as Steve mentioned the airbag recall has not been done and you want
to
try replacing the energy reserve or voltage transformer under the back seat
I
have a spare set you can have.

In some cases, the symptom of "airbag stays on for 2 minutes" seems
to be a _result_ of the recall work. At least this was the case with
my '91 200 (as reported by the PO).

My light stays on for 2 min after I start the car. Others told me that this
is caused by disconnecting the battery for an extended period. It can be
reset at the dealer. As I understand it, the airbag is operational as long
as the light is off. So...I do my best to stay on the road while the light
is on:)

Hi Jim, I've had those plugs in my V8 Quattro for a couple years now. They
replaced Bosch 4 electrode plugs. The car much prefers the NGK. I much
prefer the price. Good Luck, Bill

Hey Listers,
I am willing to help anyone who wants this info. Just keep in mind If I am

P.S. I do ask one favor of all of you. I am searching for a flywheel for a
5-speed V8. Hard thing to find in the U.S. If anyone has a connection in
the motherland (Germany) Let me know if he (or she) can get their hands on
one
Thanks a lot Gents.

... first, thanks for the offer! Perhaps I'll send you my VINs after time
passes for the rush to settle. I am pretty fortunate as I've got a good bit
of the service records for both cars ...
On the flywheel ... I could use one myself ... and I know one other person
who is on the hunt. If you work for a dealership can't you simply order one
via your dealership? If so, would you be able to get some sort of discount?

Listers,
Last week I posted about how my car was running
great but during a very cold spell of letting it sit
for a few days it wouldn't start.
Well a few listers mentioned maybe the fuel pump
relay so today I switched it out with a known working
one,
I allso had the batterie on a charger for a few days
batterie will only charge 3/4's of the way it won't
hold a full charge.
So i ventured outside (was 30ish deg) hooked the
batterie up & turned the key & to my surprise it
started. But it was going to die so I stomped on the
gas a few times to rev it,
then it died again,
I tried to re start but it wouldn't just cranked over
(I think I flooded it) so I took the fuse for the fuel
pump out & turned it over to clear the gas & it
started again but then quickly died again so I know I
used up the fuel in the lines. But after reinserting
the fuse the car wouldn't start again.
I had gotten a few other suggestions like the
Alternator, what do others think of the alternator
being shot? What about the fuel pump? Maybe some
freezing in the fuel lines?
I think it's due to the extream cold we had (live in
Mass) cause it was fine for the 6 months I've had the
car then the weather came & the car wouldn't start,
but now that it's been nice for the past few days it
started but wouldn't stay started,
which made me think one of temp sesors wasn't giving
the ECU a signal but I'm not sure.
I checked SJM's site but he doesn't get into the V8
only the other type 44's.
Anyone with any additional help?
Thanks
Ron

(A bit longish)
I took a drive from the Atlanta area to the mountains of North Carolina
this weekend. Just me and the V8. I left at 3:45am for the sole purpose of
missing traffic crossing the Natahaila wilderness. (where Eric Robert
Rudolph was hiding) I entered "V8 AFFECT" Nirvana. I did the "H&R + BOGE"
Treatment last Sat so this was the first "spirited" drive I have partaken in
since. I cannot believe how much better the car corners. I have much more
confidence behind the wheel. I highly recommend doing this to your V. Curb
apeal is nice but the added performance is well worth the price.
Alignment is an issue, however. I was able to put all for corners into
spec. except the left front camber.(still neg.) This makes her pull
slightly to the right. I'm looking into aftermarket strut mounts so I can
further adjust the camber.
I am running 16" wheels with H rated tires. Even so, It feels like
the car will flip before it breaks lose.
Hmmmmm........If I personlize my plate........."V8AFFECT"...OR..."AUDIOS"
Na....to easy for a State Trooper to remember!

My wife thinks I'm silly for making it lower and ride stiffer with the
H&R+BOGE treatment. GOOD! mabey she won't wan't to drive it anymore. (She
hits things)

<<The only way to do that is never drive it again. Otherwise, every time

So I'm not the only one. I can make a very long list of cars I've owned
over
the years and most are what people call "sport or driver's cars", but none
have had the affect the V8Q does - WHEN IT'S RUNNING RIGHT <g>.
My wife doesn't understand it. I think you guys do.....

I have checked into ordering a new one. There is not one in the country it
would have to come from Germany and it will cost more that what I paid for
the whole transmission even at my cost.
Prefer a good shape used one. Might even have it lightened who knows
