Funny...

I use the same rationalization:

I don't do drugs or play golf so the money I save can go into the V8 :-)

The wife dosen't really get it but she lets me do what I want.
Realistically, I figure $2000 a year is required to keep an old car like this 
running reliably. I insist that all my cars be able to go cross country in any 
weather at any time and so I over maintain them. So far I have never needed a 
tow home. In fact, the worst incident I have had in recent memory was a big oil 
leak caused by the bonehead that replaced the t-belt on my old 100, (me) left a 
bolt loose. I made it home from central Oregon smelly but otherwise fine.
