... you can disconnect the electrical connector at the steering rack, but
that will expose the terminals to the elements unless you bag them somehow.
The control module is mounted to the back side of the dash stiffener that
runs behind the HVAC vents ... if you look up from underneath after removing
the lower cover just to the left of the steering column you'll see a little
green plastic box peeking out.  This is the Servotronic control module.
Disconnect the connector from the module and you will disable the
Servotronic.  I've driven my car this way for a little while, and frankly
IMO it was way too heavy.  I suspect that the rack assist level with the
Servotronic disabled is much less than a non-Servotronic rack.  I suspect
that if you really hate the Servotronic the best solution is to swap the
rack for a non-Servo rack.  Actually, you can create a circuit that runs a
controlled amount of current through the servo and adjust the boost to your
satisfaction.  

I opened up a control module to see how difficult it would be to reprogram
the curve ... I found the thing is microcomputer controlled, so it will take
a bit of work to reverse engineer it.  Frankly, I like the added assist at
low speeds with much less assist at highway speeds ... and think most folks
who pan the system really are forming their opinions based on the low speed
assist level ...
