Keith,

Were we talking about a single turbo car, I'd probably agree.  However, 
the two smaller turbos are different.  Check the power figures at: 
http://www.goapr.com/Audi/products/27tko4_power_figures.html.
At around 2500 rpm there's close to 300 lb-ft; at 3000 rpm 425 lb-ft and 
3500 rpm the full measure of the 482 lb-ft.   It stays above 450 lb-ft 
until 4750 rpms and above 400 lb-ft to 5250 rpms, when the 412 HP passes 
it to about 5500.  Somewhere before all that you use the 6 speed to put 
you back in the fat part of the torque curve again.   I'm sure that will 
move your 3 passengers and a truck full-o-luggage quite smartly.
