... on a more serious note ...

Since I now have a PT just sitting on a crate in the garage, I suppose I
could get started on this project myself ... the cool thing is that it is a
correct 5-speed engine ... I should be able to work it up outside the car
and just drop it in when I'm done. Now that I'm thinking about it ... I've
got the ECU harness as well .. I might well be able to get it running
outside the car if that made any difference. My original thoughts were to
drop this engine into my Avant ... but I may need to rethink a little bit
... and I've always got the worry about how to make the car drivable on the
road here in Kaleefohnia ...

I've never done much at all along the lines of upgrading and fabricating ...
especially to this scale. We'd need to have some custom castings made for
the intake manifold wouldn't we? Does anyone know of any vendors who could
be approached to do this sort of a thing? What parts would we need from the
donor Ford? Fortunately, I have a friend who traded in his '91 T-Bird SC
for an A6 2.7t ... he did a lot of work on his former car ... I suspect he
will be a good source for the Ford contacts. Another thing we need is a way
to mess with the engine control parameters in the ECU. What other details
need to get worked out up front?
