[V8] Torn Boots

I have a small tear in the outer boot of the passenger side front axle on
V8 #1 (yassssss,  there's a second V8 in our yard now.  See the Twins at
http://www.pbase.com/image/31728879).  I have several axles acquired over
the years from 5k/200 models.  All turbo quattro cars.  Will one of those
go in place of the V8 axle?  I have to remove the axle to replace the boot
anyway, right?
