I agree. Today, on the way to Denver, when I downshifted to 3rd at 80
and wound it out to nearly 7k, it sounded frickin sweeeeeeeet. Sailed
past that left lane hog. Hung out at a buck 20 for a bit then
chilled. Ahhhhhh.

Went up to 2nd Creek to see Galati and Pobst give rides in ACNA member
cars. Fund raising event for the demise/rebirth of 2nd Creek. 100
bux for 4 laps with a pro at your wheel. I think 150 or 190 got you a
DVD of the event. I didn't ride but enjoyed the hell out of
spectating. Galati has got the quattro line _down_. Pobst, not so
much. The best was watching Galati pilot a nice clean stock '83 urq
around. Did not give up much (in the corners) to the hot-rodded
2-liter A4 Avant. He drove the silver S4tt pretty much the same but
with faster lap times.

Reception later at Prestige Imports with signed stuff from Galati,
Pobst, Werner, and Lehto. R8 on the showroom floor. Copious gratis
German brew in large buckets of ice in the service dept "foyer"
accompanied by heavy hors d'oeuvres.

Definitely worth a day off work.

Ed

PS. Also on hand, the new A8 W12 and A6. The new grille is not so bad.
