[V8] Intermittant IC ground Q

... since the audifans server seems to be rejecting mail from my normal posting address I'll try from here ... 
 
Unlike the old days where the analog gauges were a simple circuit that involved a voltage regulator, gauge and sending unit, the IC on the V8 is computerized and I know for some gauges there are diagnostics.  The good news is that you can use these things to test some of the gauges, but the bad news is that no matter what, you are probably going to need to pull the IC.  I would imagine that if you do the DeoxIt treatment on the IC it will bring things back to proper function.

Previously, I'd just whack the top of the dash --not too hard, mind you ;-).
Lately, on bumps in the road the guages will come on/ off. It also causes
the Seatbelt warning light to come on when the circuit is completed. So
obviously an intermittant contact -- but where? Any BTDT advice before i
rip into this thing?
