[V8] Autocheck funkiness and '93 v8 test drive

I push it regularly for entertainment... actually to get rid of bogus low fuel warnings. On Saturday it must have known that I was on the way to test drive another Audi, a '93 V8. It flashed the low fuel warning several times and then the temp/fuel gauges went out, then when I thumped the dash top, those came back online but the seat belt and airbag lights went on temporarily like at startup sort of.

I had never driven a 4.2 and I was impressed. This one's kinda cheap because it wouldn't sell, but it does have some fairly poor body work in the back along with some other glitches like an oil press gauge that pegs hard to the right whenever the engine is above idle speed, cruise control inop, supposedly intermittent, trim surround around the shift console kind of loose, clunk in the right front.

Also it made a bit of a graunching sound about when it shifted from 1st to 2nd under full throttle. The same sound occurred another time before the shift under nearly the same conditions.

Supposedly the car has 88k miles but I need to do a carfax to check that. Was supposedly owned by a woman up in Steamboat Springs previously. It does have the front end rash that is consistent with life in CO.

Anyway, my car still felt good afterwards, but I do long for an automatic sometimes.

I thinks that pressing the SYSTEM CHECK button will make your v8 think
that you are expecting a problem... Thereby inducing one... I'd keep my
fingers off that button... AFTER ALL WHY DID THEY MAKE IT RED !!!!!
