[V8] Code 2231 - any Insight?

Hey guys,
   V8 was acting funny the other day, along with a check engine light,
finally with a limp home mode on the tranny.  Pulled the code - 2231 -
Says it could be a stuck IAC, MAF Offset, resistance in IAC connector, or
intake leak between MAF and IAC.  I know how to troubleshoot, and will
tonight but I thought someone would have been here before and can give me
some insight here.  The Stuck IAC thing may not be it because the symptoms
are that the Idle is either too high or too low and I don't really have
that.
